The Levine Law Group successfully and effectively represents clients in the following practice areas:

Affordable Housing – We represent non-profit and for-profit developers and owners of multi-family affordable housing. We pride ourselves on our knowledge regarding low income housing tax credits (LIHTC) and the allocation and administration of those tax credits by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). We represent clients from concept, through application, to final loan and equity closings, as well as in workouts and entity transfers.

Real Estate & Community Development – Drawing on our wealth of transactional experience in affordable housing and other areas, we represent our clients in most aspects of real estate law in community development activities and projects including issues associated with Community Development Block Grants, Neighborhood Stabilization Grants, Brownfield, and other federal and state incentives.

We also represent clients on real estate development, acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, construction and syndication of commercial and  residential real estate; real estate loan and workouts, foreclosures; zoning and land use; housing and urban development; and real estate taxation. We represent clients transacting business in Michigan with MSHDA, HUD, and RD. Also, we handle litigation involving real estate including real estate tax appeals.

Condemnation & Eminent Domain – We represent condemning agencies and property owners in all aspects of the eminent domain process. Our representation includes the initial sale negotiation through trial and appellate representation, where a negotiated sale has not been unsuccessful.

Administrative & Government Relations – Utilizing our years of state government experience, we provide counsel and assist clients in their daily interactions with state government. This representation can be as simple as a brief meeting or telephone call to an agency to identify the appropriate path of communication, to extensive and complex negotiations that have significant economic and operational impact to a client.

Municipal Law – We provide specialized legal services to governmental units in the areas of land acquisition and development, land use regulation, public bidding and contracts, litigation and other legal matters. The firm renders advice on, and drafts statutes, ordinances and regulations.

Transportation – Our firm represents governmental agencies and local units of government on matters dealing with the application of state and federal law affecting their daily transportation related operations.

Civil Litigation – Levine Law Group represents clients in highly complex litigation matters, particularly in eminent domain, real estate, transportation, administrative and government law, in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. We have handled almost two hundred quiet title cases and litigated easement, and right-of-way cases.
